Coast to Coast

Vlad Basarab, Fulbright Student in Performing Arts in 2012-2013, is the curator and participant artist in the Exhibition of works of renowned ceramics artists from various geographic areas of United States of America and Canada. The exhibition is open October 15 to November 10 at the Brancovan Palaces Cultural Center in Mogosoaia. Vlad is very present in the Bucharest cultural life with projects such as his Archaeology of Memory. See more at http://www.basarab-art.com/ 

Fulbright Alumnus Publishes Book on Chinese Language

Dinu Luca, Fulbright alumnus and Professor at National Taiwan Normal University, Graduate Institute of European Cultures and Tourism, has published the book titled The Chinese Language in European Texts: The Early Period at the prestigious Palgrave Publishing House (https://www.amazon.com/Chinese-Language-European-Texts-Literature/dp/1137512253).

Dr. Luca started his exploration of this topic during the time of his Fulbright fellowship in 2009, when he carried out research at Yale University, enabling him to gain access to a wealth of primary sources and lesser-known texts.

Re-Interpretation of Fairy-Tale Themes and Mythological Figures in New Book Published by Mariana Net, Fulbright Alumna

Mariana Net, Fulbright Alumna and senior researcher at the Institute of Linguistics in Bucharest, has published the book titled Capriccios on Fairy-Tale Themes, which includes essays on a variety of cultural topics, ranging from love and death to choice and free will, as represented in popular fairy tales from Sleeping Beauty to Harry Potter.

Welcome to U.S. Fulbright Grantees 2016-2017

The new American Senior Scholars, Researchers and ETA Student grantees have arrived at the beginning of the current academic year. Thanks to the increased financial contribution of the Romanian Government, we have the opportunity to welcome twenty-four American Fulbrighters, more than in any other year of educational exchanges between our countries. The Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission organized in their honor the Orientation Seminar aimed at introducing them to the new environment and help them adapt, know each other as well as Romanian academics, colleagues and alumni of the program.
