Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission & EducationUSA at ISD Brăila

The Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission and the EducationUSA-affiliated Fulbright Educational Advising Center kicked off this year’s spring edition of the International Study Day (ISD) tour, alongside the British Council, Campus France, and DAAD, on April 8 with two presentations in Brăila, at two of the city’s top schools - “Gheorghe Munteanu Murgoci” National College and “Nicolae Iorga” High School.
An audience of about 100 students from both high schools attended our presentations, keen to learn more about study opportunities in the U.S., as well as Europe. We were happy to provide them with information on the American higher education system, the application process, and financial aid, as well as the manifold ways in which FEAC-EducationUSA can help them navigate the process.
The International Study Day project consists of a series of outreach presentations jointly organized by the British Council, Campus France, DAAD, and the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission in various cities throughout the country, targeting the underserved student population.

The 35th Annual Meeting of the Executive Directors of European Fulbright Commissions

From April 3 to 5, the Executive Directors of the European Fulbright Commissions met for their annual conference to share their experiences, compare good practices, and discuss current policy changes and cooperation among commissions and with the U.S. partners. The annual meeting was hosted by the Austrian-American Educational Commission in Salzburg, Austria. The Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission was represented by ED Rodica Mihăilă.

Bard College Berlin Rep Connects with Romanian Students in Bucharest

Bard College representative Salome Vacheishvili (Admissions Counselor and Recruitment Coordinator) was present in Bucharest this past week to connect with Romanian high school students. The Fulbright Educational Advising Center-EducationUSA team was happy to meet her again and assist her in her outreach efforts.
We accompanied our guest to three of the finest high schools in Bucharest - “St. Sava” National College, “George Coşbuc” National Bilingual College, and “I. L. Caragiale” National College -, where an average 60 students (mainly 10th and 11th graders) gathered to hear the presentations, eager to learn more about the Bard Berlin community and the path to studying at this American-style liberal arts college in Europe.
The attendees had a chance to learn more about Bard College Berlin’s rich academic offering, the admission process, the various forms of financial aid available for international applicants, and the Bard global network of campuses.
We took the opportunity to tell participants a few words about the resources awaiting them at FEAC-EducationUSA and ways we can help them in preparing strong applications to undergraduate programs in the U.S.
