The English Department of the University of Bucharest held its 20th Annual Conference: “Truth(s) and Alternative Facts” on June 7-9. On the second day of the conference, the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission organized a roundtable entitled “Exploring Truths Across Cultures.” The roundtable was attended by current U.S. Fulbright grantees (Domnica Rădulescu, Washington and Lee University; Brooke Reavey, Dominican University; Courtney-Sophia Henry, Wayne State University; Monica Cure, Biola University) and Romanian Fulbright alumni (Mihaela Irimia, University of Bucharest; Teodora Șerban-Oprescu, Bucharest University of Economic Studies; Mugur Zlotea, University of Bucharest; Iulian Cănănău, University of Gävle, Sweden; Dragoș Ivana, University of Bucharest). The discussion, moderated by Executive Director Rodica Mihăilă, focused on the value of the Fulbright Program in encouraging intercultural communication and critical thinking.
