Fulbright Confluences

Fulbright Confluences

On May 26th, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi held a special one day international and interdisciplinary conference on the theme of "The books that made us". Dr. Monica Cure gave a talk entitled "Pulp Fiction to Project Gutenberg: New Media, Copyright, and Ways of Reading." Former Fulbrighter to Iasi (1987-88), Dr. David Hadaller was able to join her panel via Skype and spoke on "Walter Ong's 'Orality and Literacy'". Dr. Cure, who was familiar with Dr. Hadaller via his popular Facebook page "Mr. Fulbright Year in Romania," enjoyed a brief exchange with him comparing Iasi now and then.
