Fulbright ETA Matthew Chernick participated in a variety of events as part of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu’s 5th annual International Week that ran from May 14th to May 19th, 2018. Among these was his presentation of a guest lecture on American film history for an audience of students and visiting international academics in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
Matthew also participated in the 2nd annual International Exchange in the Age of Globalization Conference held by the ULBS Faculty of Letters and Arts as part of International Week. The topic for this year was “Systems of Power” and during the panel on “The Rhetoric of Power,” he presented a paper entitled “Through Windows: Mass Culture and Violence in the Case of the Apaches of Paris.”
