Culture Wars and Civil Liberties in the USA

Culture Wars and Civil Liberties in the USA

Bill Issel, a spring 2018 Fulbright professor at the West University of Timișoara, shared his research on culture wars and civil liberties in USA history with two groups of fellow Fulbrighter Stephen Hilger’s American Studies students at the Transilvania University of Brașov. Issel also lectured on the presidential election of 2016 and the Trump administration, considered in the context of the rise of nationalism, populism, and authoritarianism in the UK and Europe, to some fifty students and faculty members as part of the university’s American Studies Conference Series.
