The Fulbright Educational Advising Center-EducationUSA was happy to host this past week two special events featuring Stanford representative Michelle Lepore (Assistant Dean of Admission, Office of Undergraduate Admission, Stanford University), who visited Bucharest, May 31 to June 1st.
On May 31, our guest delivered an engaging presentation on study opportunities at Stanford University. The participants, mainly high school students, had a chance to learn more about Stanford’s rich academic offerings, undergraduate and graduate research opportunities, the admission process and the generous financial aid available for competitive applicants.
On June 1, Ms. Lepore met, at FEAC-EducationUSA, with Stanford alumni currently living in Bucharest, who will be conducting interviews with undergraduate applicants as of this fall, for the first time ever in Romania.
On the same day, we accompanied our guest to two of the most prestigious high schools in Bucharest -“Tudor Vianu” National College of Computer Science and the International Computer High School of Bucharest -, where an average 100 students (mainly 10th and 11th graders) gathered to hear the presentations, eager to learn more about the Stanford community and the path to studying at this top U.S. school.
We took the opportunity to tell participants a few words about the resources awaiting them at FEAC-EducationUSA and ways we can help them in preparing strong applications to undergraduate programs in the U.S.
