Rodica Melinda Șuțu obtained her PhD diploma from the University of Bucharest in 2015 and holds a Master’s with Distinction in International Journalism from the University of Westminster, London. She has 18 years of experience as a television journalist and currently works as a producer with the news department of the Romanian Public Television. Ms. Șuțu is the initiator of the graduate course Digital Television and Convergent Journalism, at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies, the University of Bucharest, where she is teaching at present.

The book by Rodica Șuțu focuses on the effects the transition from a traditional to a multimedia newsroom had on journalists, such as changes to their values, identity and professional practices. By analyzing the activity of the media organizations in the United States and Romania, which embraced convergence, the study identifies the difficulties and challenges which occur at the individual or organizational level, in the process of adopting the new technologies.
