Fulbright Presentation in Ploiesti

Mohsen Razzaghi, a Fulbright scholar at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, was invited by Professor Cristian Marinoiu, Vice-Rector at the University of Ploiesti, to visit the University and present a seminar on his research. Dr. Razzaghi presented in Ploiesti a research talk entitled "Application of the operational matrices of fractional polynomial series to fractional differential equations”.

Summit of Integrity for Prosperity

Samuel Echevarria-Cruz, Associate Professor at Austin Community College and a Fulbright Scholar in Romania this year, participated as a speaker in the Summit of Integrity for Prosperity organized by Transparency International Romania at “Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu on November 23, 2015.

Among the subjects debated during the Summit were the importance of ethics in education, the academic partnership and the business environment, ethics of business and social responsibility and the historic and cultural perspective on integrity. Workshop on Creative Writing in Bucharest

The Department of American Studies at the University of Bucharest organized a Workshop on Creative Writing and Translation on November 19, 2015 conducted by poet & translator Tara Skurtu, currently a Fulbright ETA Student affiliated at Transilvania University in Brasov. Under her guidance, 1st year American Studies students were initiated in the creative writing process by means of a series of activities, such as writing a poem and translations of short texts, as a group exercise.

U.S. Alumni Fair in Bucharest & Fulbright 55th Anniversary Joint Celebration

On Friday, November 20, the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission, together with EducationUSA and the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, marked the International Education Week by organizing the second edition of our very own U.S. Alumni Fair, hosted by “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture.

The event also marked the 55th anniversary of the Fulbright program in Romania.

Following a brief introduction by Prof. Rodica Mihăilă, the executive director of the Fulbright Commission, the visitors were welcomed by Dean Thompson, Deputy Chief of Mission, U. S. Embassy in Bucharest, and Prof. Zeno Bogdănescu, Rector of the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture.

Presentation at the Naval Academy in Constanta

Tuesday, November 17, Professor Mohsen Razzaghi conferenced on “Taylor series approach to fractional calculus” at the Naval Academy “Mircea cel Batran” in Constanta. The event was attended by the Academy Rector, Faculty members and students.  
Professor Razzaghi, Head of Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Mississippi State University, is currently a Fulbright Scholar affiliated with the University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest.
