Romanian Fulbright Scholar to Give Presentation at ITU San Jose 

On Tuesday, February 2, Fulbright Scholar Grigore Stamatescu will give a lecture on “Wireless Sensor Networks for Building Energy Management” at the invitation of the International Technological University of San Jose. The event is supported by the Fulbright Outreach Lecturing Fund program (OLF), which allows Fulbright Visiting Scholars who are currently in the U.S. to visit other universities across the country, in order to become better acquainted with the U.S. higher education and build networks between their home and host institutions. Dr. Stamatescu is now a 2015-2016 Fulbright Visiting Scholar affiliated with the University of California, Merced, cooperating with Prof. Alberto Cerpa on topics focused on building thermal energy management. Dr. Stamatescu’s research concentration is in the field of intelligent and network sensing control, industrial informatics and pervasive computing. Upon return Dr. Stamatescu will share the acquired experience with his colleagues and students from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, the Department of Automatic Control, where he is an Assistant Professor.

Humphrey Alumni Impact Award - Call for Applications 2016

The Alumni Impact Awards are jointly funded by the U.S. Department of State and IIE’s Fulbright Legacy Fund. Humphrey alumni are eligible to apply for an Alumni Impact Award of up to $10,000 to implement a project in their home country or region. These grants allow Humphrey Fellows to pursue projects that use the knowledge and skills they acquired during their Humphrey Fellowship year.
Transylvanian Ethnomusicology with Colleen Bertsch
Colleen Bertsch, violin player currently involved in an Ethnomusicology Fulbright project at the Music Academy "Gheorghe Dima" in Cluj, was recently interviewed on her work in Romania by Charlie McCarron of Composer Quest, an America-based podcast.

Professor Razzaghi Conferenced in Iasi

Mohsen Razzaghi, a Fulbright scholar at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, was invited by Professor Catalin Lefter, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Alexandru Ioan Cuza in Iasi, to visit the University and present a seminar on "Solutions of fractional differential equations by polynomial series”.
