Anamaria (Ana) Craciun-Lambru, a Fulbright Student grantee back in 2013-2014 and a current master’s student in the field of Dramatic Arts/Puppetry, has let us know she will soon graduate from the MFA program at the University of Connecticut. Her graduation exam will conclude with a final show within The MFA Puppet Arts Festival - an event integrated in the Connecticut Repertory Theatre. Out of the three graduating students showing their works at the MFA Puppet Arts Festival, Ana will present Dust, a piece inspired by the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New York City. Ana will also perform in her one-act play which incorporates shadow and object puppetry. The premiere of Dust will take place on March 25.

The Fulbright Commission will host, on March 22, 7 p.m., the launch of the first book on media convergence in Romania, written by Fulbright Alumna Rodica Melinda Șuțu, PhD. The book, titled “Fără granițe. Efectele digitalizării în redacțiile de știri”, is based on the research the author completed in the United States as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Florida, during 2013-2014, as part of her doctoral study.

Introductions will be made by Prof. Rodica Mihăilă, PhD, Executive Director, Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission and Prof. Mihai Coman, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies, University of Bucharest. Invited speakers also include Cristian Pantazi, editor-in-chief, Hotnews, Mihai Rădulescu, senior journalist, TVR, Petrișor Obae, editor-in-chief, Pagina de Media, Mihaela Carpea, online editor, Stiriletvr.ro.

The online seminar “A Guide to Preparing the Fulbright Student Award Application” will take place on Monday, March 21, from 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. This webinar will offer guidance on the application steps, focusing on the main components of the application.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and to ask questions about the application process, fields of study or research, selection criteria, required documentation and funding.
