Playwright Trent Sanders, currently a Fulbright Student Researcher at Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, delivered a lecture on poetry in dramatic fashion at the American Studies Department of the University of Bucharest. His lecture, "Poetry Creating Poetry: Or, on How Poets Read their own Poetry to non-Poets," challenged the students to think about the interpretation of poetry through drama. He read them a couple of his poems and invited the students to join in this intense experience of verse and acting, initiating them to a return to the roots of lyricism. Class ended and the students left with a confidence in the fusion of drama and poetry as a refined form of reading.
