Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission & EducationUSA at ISD 2017 in Piteşti

On May 24, the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission and the Fulbright Educational Advising Center (FEAC)-EducationUSA checked another city in our spring edition of the International Study Day (ISD) tour, alongside the British Council, Campus France and DAAD, with two presentations in Piteşti, at the University of Piteşti and “Zinca Golescu” National College.
An assorted audience of about 40 undergraduate students and high schoolers from “Ion C. Brătianu” National College attended the first presentation and were happy to learn about the Fulbright Student Award, as well as independent study opportunities in the U.S., at an undergraduate or graduate level. An average 30-strong high school students joined us for the second presentation, keen to discover the path to studying in the U.S., as well as Europe. The FEAC-EducationUSA adviser provided them with an overview of the American higher education system, the application process and forms of financial aid, and encouraged them to take advantage of the Fulbright Educational Advising Center’s resources and services.
The International Study Day project consists of a series of outreach presentations jointly organized by the British Council, Campus France DAAD, the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission and the Fulbright-EducationUSA center in Bucharest in various cities throughout the country, targeting the underserved student population.
