Fulbright Alumna Mihaela Miroiu to Launch New Book

On Thursday, May 4, from 3 p.m., CEREFREA Villa Noël will host a debate/book launch showcasing a new publication by distinguished professor, writer and women’s rights activist Mihaela Miroiu. The book, titled
Cu mintea mea de femeie (
Thinking as a Woman), is a memoir which reflects a woman’s metamorphoses, from childhood to full-fledged adulthood, as well as the slow but gradual progress of Romanian society in terms of women’s roles.
The event is co-organized by CEREFREA (Centre Régional Francophone de Recherches Avancées en Sciences Sociales) Villa Noël – University of Bucharest, the National School of Political Science and Public Administration (SNSPA), the FILIA Center, the Feminist Analysis Sociey AnA and PEN Club Romania. Guest speakers include: Caius Dobrescu, Simona Popescu, Laura Grunberg, Miruna Vlada and Ion Bogdan Lefter.
Mihaela Miroiu, professor of Political Science at SNSPA and a trailblazer in Feminist and Gender Studies in Romania, was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Indiana University in 2003-2004.
