Between April 5-8, 2017, in Miami, Prof. Marius Profiroiu, Prof. Calin Hintea (both former Fulbright Scholars) and Septimiu Szabo (current Fulbright Research Student) participated at the 13th Trans-Atlantic Dialogue, a conference organized jointly by the European Group for Public Administration and the American Society for Public Administration that aims to strengthen cooperation between European and American academics. The conference brought together some of the most important American and European scholars in the field of public administration and its topic was "Sustaining a Democratic Public Sector in an Era of Multiple Challenges and Constraints." Prof. Calin Hintea had a presentation during one of the Plenary Sessions about the European governance and future relations with US and Latin America. Septimiu Szabo and Prof. Marius Profiroiu presented one paper related to fiscal decentralization and economic growth in Romania. Prof. Profiroiu also presented during the final Plenary Session the plans for the next Trans-Atlantic Dialogue that, for the first time, will take place in Bucharest in 6-8 June 2018.
