Dr. Melanie Shepard, Fulbright Scholar at the Faculty of Social Work and Sociology at Babes-Boylai University, attended a conference on empowering youth called "Project of children and young adults who participate, act and influence decisions in society." There were presentations from projects that had been funded to work with youth in a variety of community settings. A grant from the European Union funded 30 projects in 10 EU countries. In addition to this conference, Dr. Shepard has enjoyed teaching a course on domestic violence and lecturing about child protection in the United States and family policy.
