Re-Interpretation of Fairy-Tale Themes and Mythological Figures in New Book Published by Mariana Net, Fulbright Alumna

Mariana Net, Fulbright Alumna and senior researcher at the Institute of Linguistics in Bucharest, has published the book titled
Capriccios on Fairy-Tale Themes, which includes essays on a variety of cultural topics, ranging from love and death to choice and free will, as represented in popular fairy tales from
Sleeping Beauty to
Harry Potter.
The key subject of investigation and reflection, however, is the relationship between the „real” and the fictional, whether in regard to the brevity of life or the vastness of knowledge and potential for creation. The book is prefaced by an introduction written by Monica Saulescu, also a distinguished Fulbright Alumna.
