A reception to honor the 2016-2017 Romanian grantees and the alumni of the program was hosted by H.E. Hans G. Klemm, the United States Ambassador to Romania, at his residence. The event celebrated our brand-new Romanian Fulbright grantees, welcoming them into the Fulbright family, as well as Romanian alumni or officials and cultural figures who have been supporters of this prestigious program.

Welcome addresses were delivered by H.E. Hans G. Klemm, the U.S. Ambassador to Romania, Mr. Lazar Comanescu, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Remus Pricopie, the Chair of the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission Board of Directors, and Dr. Rodica Mihaila, the Executive Director of the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission. All the speakers insisted on the importance of the Fulbright program, which has helped build bridges of friendship, solidarity and understanding between our two countries.
