Winter Orientation Seminar for U.S. Fulbright Grantees

On February 18 & 19, 2016, the Romanian - U.S. Fulbright Commission organized its traditional Orientation Seminar devoted to the American Fulbright grantees present in Romania for the academic year 2015/2016 and to greeting the newly arrived U.S. Fulbright grantees.
The event was organized in parallel with the Fulbright Think Tank, “Promoting American Values: Diversity in the English Class”, in which many of the U.S. grantees had personal contributions.

Drs. Tunde Adeleke and Gary Onan, and Ms. Rachel Susser, the three new Fulbright grantees arrived for the second semester of this academic year, were briefed by Ms. Marjorie Stern, Cultural Attaché, and other representatives of the U.S. Embassy at the headquarters of the U.S. Mission in Romania.
The entire group of U.S. Fulbright grantees joined the participants in the Fulbright Think Tank in the reception organized at Casa Universitarilor, where American Fulbright grantees had a chance to actively interact with Romanian alumni and friends of the program. The event was honoured by the presence of Dean Thompson, Deputy Chief of Mission, Ronald E. Hawkins Counselor for Public Affairs, other U.S. Embassy officials and members of the Fulbright Board of Directors.
On the second day of the event, Friday, February 19, from 9

to 11.30 a.m., the U.S. Fulbrighters made presentations of their activities in Romania for the first semester and the perspectives and plans for the 2nd semester. The meeting was concluded with a session of questions and answers.
In the afternoon, the group and members of the Commission staff went on a visit to Stirbey and Mogosoaia Palaces.
