International Study Day brings together FEAC, DAAD and British Council Reps in Piteşti and Râmnicu-Vâlcea

On December 9, the Fulbright-EducationUSA Advising Center (FEAC) team joined the first International Study Day/ISD event of the fall semester, with a series of two presentations in Piteşti and Râmnicu-Vâlcea, respectively. Representatives of the German Foreign Exchange Service, DAAD, the British Council and FEAC delivered 45-minute presentations in both cities, either followed or preceded by interactions with visitors who asked questions and received answers and promotional materials regarding study opportunities abroad.

The FEAC presentation at the University of Piteşti was attended by an audience of about 100 students as well as faculty, kindly coordinated by the university’s Center for International Cooperation. The Fulbright Student Award presentation was followed by an introduction to the graduate admission process as far as independent applications are concerned. “Mircea cel Bătrân” National College in Râmnicu-Vâlcea was the host of the second presentation, geared towards prospective high school applicants to undergraduate programs in the United States. Out of the roughly 200 students who were present at the event, a significant number not only expressed an interest in studying in an American university, but also asked well-targeted questions pertaining to the school selection process and the changes in the new format of the required standardized tests. The ISD series will start again in the spring semester, aiming to reach out to talented students from other regions of the country.
