Fulbright Philosopher Addresses the Seminar for Interdisciplinary Research on Religions and Ideologies

Dr. Michael S. Jones, a current Fulbright scholar teaching at the University of Bucharest, travelled to Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to present his research on the epistemology of expert peer disagreements. His presentation was titled “Epistemic Peer Disagreement and ‘The Problem of Religious Pluralism’” (https://sciri.wordpress.com/2015/04/27/conferinta-sciri-epistemic-peer-disagreement-and-the-problem-of-religious-pluralism/).

The Seminar for Interdisciplinary Research on Religions and Ideologies (Seminarul de Cercetare Interdisciplinara a Religiilor si Ideologiilor, or SCIRI) is an organization composed of students, professors, and researches that Professor Jones was involved in organizing during his 2000-2001 Fulbright at Babes-Bolyai University. Since that time SCIRI has continued to hold conferences, encourage interdisciplinary research and publications, and most notably has helped sustain the online Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies (www.JSRI.ro), a leading electronic journal in the field. He reports that the audience was very attentive and that the question-and-answer time afterwards was excellent, being one of the most enjoyable Q&A sessions of his time in Romania.
