Fulbright Scholar Addresses the “Center for Research in Applied Ethics”

Current Fulbright scholar Michael S. Jones presented his research on peer disagreement to the Center for Research in Applied Ethics (www.CCEA.ro), which is part of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest. The subject of the rationality of disagreement between experts in any given field of study has become the focus of considerable attention in analytic epistemology over the last ten years. The discussion is now broadening beyond the theoretical aspects and is beginning to be applied to a variety of specific domains of research. Dr. Jones’ presentation focused on the application of the epistemological discussion to ethics. His presentation was followed by a prepared response by Dr. Mircea Flonta, a well-known Bucharest philosopher, and by a time of Q&A.
