American Fulbright Scholar Speaks on Lucian Blaga at Transylvania University

Current Fulbright recipient Michael S. Jones, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Liberty University (USA) and visiting professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest, traveled to Transylvania University in Brasov, Romania, to speak on “Lucian Blaga and the Christian
Weltanschauung.” Blaga is an important Romanian philosopher and poet who was black-listed during the Communist period but has subsequently been rediscovered and republished. Dr. Jones has published books and articles on Blaga in Romania and America. His presentation was attended by a standing-room only crowd of students and faculty and was followed by a dinner with faculty members where the conversation continued. Dr. Jones was accompanied by his wife, Laura, who is also spending the year in Bucharest, where she is researching her EdD dissertation. They both agreed that “Brasov is a beautiful city!”
