Fulbright Alumna Adela Mihai Received “Gheorghe Titeica” Prize of the Romanian Academy (2014)

On December 19, 2014, the Romanian Academy awarded its annual prizes. Dr. Adela-Gabriela Mihai, Fulbright alumna, received the “Gheorghe Titeica” Prize in Geometry for the papers “Curvature Properties of Complex and Real Metric Manifolds. Applications” published in 2012.

Dr. Adela-Gabriela Mihai is an Associate Professor at both the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Technical University of Civil Engineering, Bucharest, and the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Bucharest.

In 2008-2009, she received a Fulbright Senior Award at Michigan State University. Her host researcher was Prof. David E. Blair (also a Fulbright alumnus),  a well-known specialist in the field of Differential Geometry. During her affiliation with Michigan State University, Dr. Mihai and Professor Blair co-authored two articles published in prestigious international journals: D. E. Blair, A. Mihai, Homogeneity and local symmetry of complex (k,µ)-spaces, Israel Journal of Mathematics 187 (2012), 451-464 and D. E. Blair, A. Mihai, Symmetry in complex contact geometry, Rocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics 42(2) (2012), 451-465.
