Fulbright Program Receives Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation

On October 24, 2014, King Felipe VI of Spain honored the Fulbright Program with the 2014 Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation at the grand ceremony held in Oviedo, Spain. The award was received by Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan together with a group of five Fulbright alumni. The event was attended by executive directors of Fulbright Commissions from across the world.
On this occasion, included in the program was also a Fulbright roundtable entitled
A Bridge between Societies and Cultures based on People and a working session in which the EDs were addressed by Evan Ryan, Assistant Secretary of State, Meghann Curtis, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs and Mary Kirk, Director of Academic Exchange Programs. Present at the session were also Tom Healy, FFSB Chairman (J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board), Mrs. Harriet Fulbright, Stephen Reilly, Executive Director of the Fulbright Association and Allan Goodman, President and Chief Executive Officer at IIE (Institute of International Education).
