FEAC’s monthly book club began in August 2014, aiming to combine English language activities with in-depth reading practices in weekly sessions devoted to the “book of the month” pick. The book club meetings in August centered on the novel The Unwinding by American journalist George Packer. The discussions took place every Wednesday in August from 4 pm to 5 pm and focused on language practice and cultural history. High school as well as graduate students benefited from discussions with FEAC staff and interns specializing in American history and literature. The month of September will focus on college search options and strategies, while the accompanying book choice will be Loren Pope’s Colleges That Change Lives.
