Arts & Crafts, Smiles & Good Times!
Creative workshops at the Fulbright Educational Advising Center

The Fulbright Educational Advising Center/FEAC hosted a series of creative workshops in July which engaged the visitors in interactive, practical and ingenious summer activities. Pablo Picasso's words may well have served as inspiration – "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up" - for our Arts & Crafts sessions this summer. If there is even the slightest chance for the artist inside us to survive, that is reason enough to dedicate an event to it! The series of weekly workshops focused on fostering skills such as creativity, collaboration, problem solving and use of available materials by providing a different theme with each meeting.
Under the expert guidance of our intern, Alexandra Huțanu, enthusiastic attendees as young as 4 years old or well past their teenage years and everyone in between did extremely well in the challenges of each workshop. After carefully following instructions, each participant created unique items, undoubtedly marked by the maker's own vibrant personality. From friendship and beaded bracelets, dream catchers and macaroni necklaces to clay modeling of the United States' state symbols, the finished products carried within them the care and dedication of those very hard at work!
Every Wednesday this month, the FEAC/ EducationUSA center became a second home to tens of visitors – some with us for the first time, while others advanced to the “seasoned veteran” status. Everyone received a warm welcome to the sessions and hopefully departed with fond memories, smiles and even little mementos of our time together! All in all, the workshops proved to be successful, becoming a blend of creativity, curiosity, teamwork, attention to details and a (not-so-)secret element – friendship. Thank you all for a wonderful time, we will definitely miss the Arts & Crafts series! (article by FEAC intern, Ozana Ionică, and by FEAC staff)
