On June 6th, Fulbright alumnus Dr. Sean Cotter read from his new book Curl (Wakefield Press, 2019) at the Cărturești Verona Bookstore in Bucharest. The event was organized by Fulbright alumna Dr. Monica Cure, who was also the evening's moderator, with the help of the Carturesti team. Curl is a translation of T.O. Bobe's book of poetry, Bucla, a cult classic since it came out in 1999, about "Mr. Gica, the greatest barber in the world." The author read from the original Romanian version in tandem with Dr. Cotter's selections. Dr. Cure moderated a bilingual discussion on the process of translating and being translated before inviting the audience to ask questions.
