News from Fulbright Scholar Oana Godeanu-Kenworthy

Part of the U.S. Embassy’s outreach events in March, during Women’s Month, Oana Godeanu-Kenworthy, currently Fulbright visiting scholar at the University of Bucharest, met with students from the I. L. Caragiale High-School in Bucharest (March 6), and, via DVC, spoke to high-schoolers in Bacau and Baia Mare (March 26 and 27) at the American Corner at the National Library in Bucharest. The topic of Dr. Godeanu-Kenworthy's lectures was “Influential Women who Changed American History", followed by an interactive section. The high-schoolers enthusiastically brainstormed what type of events, monuments, and actors would best help local communities to learn about, and celebrate, the women who made an impact on Romanian history, and together came up with creative ways to enhance the overall visibility of women in the Romanian national narrative.
