Short Film by Fulbright Alumna Ioana Mischie
Cumulonimbus, a short independent film written and directed by Fulbright alumna Ioana Mischie, was selected by filmmaker Gus Van Sant, out of 1000 global submissions, as one of the five honorary finalists on the Coppola Shorts platform (
http://coppolashorts.com/). Congratulations, Ioana!
“Cumulonimbus is a hybrid film that explores the boundaries of cinematic storytelling and enters the ground of visual anthropology, as it traces the roots of an old tradition of the Roma communities, who are marrying (promising) their children as early as possible. How can we measure the ethics of a tradition? And how can we decode meaning through child-games?”
